The Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira requires skill, dexterity, and creativity--which are also all in a day’s work for a senior interactive designer. Daniel happens to excel at both.
At Forum One, Daniel creates high-level interaction, navigation, and organization for Forum One clients’ websites and mobile apps. He has more than 12 years of experience as a UI designer. He previously worked main in the Government sector, on many internal web-based applications for varied federal agencies. Daniel has been drawing, painting, and studying art for as long as he can remember, and enjoys applying aesthetic principles from his favorite art into functional interfaces in every project he works on.
Daniel is also a Section 508 accessibility expert, regularly participating in conferences to keep up to date on the latest advances in Assistive Technology (AT) and accessible coding techniques in mobile and web platforms. He says watching closely how people with disabilities actually use technology reinforces the need to adhere to accessibility best practices in interface design and coding.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised mostly in Maryland, Daniel’s other interests range from quantum physics to breakdancing to Mark Twain. He loves to travel, always visiting art museums, admiring architecture, and enjoying local food wherever he goes.
You may not know: As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Daniel has been an extra in more than a dozen movies and TV shows, including VEEP, National Treasure, and The Wire.
