Lessons Learned: Building an Open, Agile Government Through Community

Presenters: AaronPava

Agile Government Leadership was created in 2014 to help “redefine the culture of local, state and federal public sector service delivery across all aspects of government.” With more than 800 active members, AGL is now a leading voice in bringing agile best practices to government.

In this session, we’ll share how others can join or build highly-engaged communities of practice between government and industry.

Topics:

  • Using an iterative approach to getting started and then growing
  • Building an effective content/communications strategy
  • Creating a community-driven approach with public and private sector leaders
  • Providing educational resources for multiple audiences
  • Engaging via live video and virtual conferences
  • Expanding from online to local IRL community

We’ll share wins, losses and lessons learned through an unconventional effort to change government culture though a community-driven organization.
