Virtual Venue

Drupal GovCon is virtual again this year!

Our primary method for delivering video/screen sharing will be through Hopin. After you have registered for an account and ticket on our site, you can then find the link to register for Hopin on your user page or click the button below.

Get your Hopin Ticket NOW! (click "Join event" on the linked page)

For the best experience and to ensure accessibility features function properly, please use the Chrome browser to access the event.  Firefox should work as well, but you may have to troubleshoot issues with screen sharing permissions in some cases.

About Hopin

Hopin is one of the most interactive event platforms and provides participants with the ability to connect and interact with other event attendees.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access the event?

Access the event directly in Hopin!

Use the link above to claim your Hopin ticket (click "Join event" on the linked page), either by using an existing Hopin account or creating a new one. Please register for both Drupal GovCon 2021 AND claim your ticket to Hopin.

What TimeZone is the schedule in?

If you set your local timezone in your Hopin Profile it will be used here in the platform. Similarly, if you are looking at the schedule it will use your profile timezone.

Where can I find the full list of sessions?

To find the full schedule directly in Hopin, go to:

  • Reception
  • Scroll down to schedule
  • Click on the appropriate 'date' at the top of the schedule filter
  • Scheduled sessions don't appear in the sessions area in Hopin until 5 minutes before their start time or if they are actively happening

View the schedule on our website.

I can't see any sessions in the sessions tab - help!

You must enable ads in your browser for the platform - unfortunately some browsers and browser extensions incorrectly identify the session blocks as ads.

  • Firefox → Block (default)→ change to Allow → reload the page → enjoy!
  • Chrome → Chrome Settings → Privacy and Security → Enable ads for Hopin → Refresh

Audio or Video is not working

This could be caused by a number of different factors, depending on your browser. First, confirm that you are not blocking any part of Hopin with an adblocker:

  • Firefox → Block (default)→ change to Allow → reload the page → enjoy!
  • Chrome → Chrome Settings → Privacy and Security → Enable ads for Hopin → Refresh

If either audio or video is not working as you view content:

  • Try refreshing the page
  • Check for other browser extensions that might be interfering
  • Check your computer and browser permissions for microphone and video
  • Test in another browser, or on another device

How do I full screen a session video?

  • On the main stage, you should see a full-screen option when hovering over the stage window.
  • In a regular session, you can double-click on any of the shared screens, to pin that to the top of the window. You can then go full screen by pressing F11.
  • If you need to squeeze a little bit more space, press ctrl- (or cmd- on Mac) to zoom out the Hopin UI - this will make the toolbar smaller and leave room for the video to get larger.

  5. Helpful Tips:
  • The caption window can be moved. Default is the caption window is at the bottom of the page.
  • As you speak, you will not be captioned. Only external audio will be captioned.
  • Caption does not provide a transcript to review or download later.

The information on turning on Live Captioning in Chrome was pulled together from this article: Chrome now instantly captions audio and video on the web

Presenter Guidance

The Drupal GovCon team has provided instructions and best practices for all presenters to support all attendees’ participation.

The Drupal community has adopted an Accessibility Statement that sets goals for both the software we produce as well as websites managed by the Drupal Association. Although there are a lot of standards, the most widely adopted internationally is the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA.

How Are We Doing?
