Platform for Education in Emergencies Response – a mobile first low-bandwidth website for good

Brent

In response to the world’s global education emergencies, Taoti Creative worked with the Institute of International Education (IIE) to develop a low-bandwidth Drupal 8 site to help Syrian refugees access learning opportunities otherwise unavailable to them. Because of our target audience, the site was designed and developed for low-bandwidth users on older mobile phones. The site loads in under 4 seconds on a 3G connection throughout most of the Middle East North Africa region. Taoti Creative’s VP of Delivery, Sam Harper, and Project Manager, Jordan Herring, will share our approach, tools and lessons learned from this project.
