Scholarships

What scholarships are offered?

We have two scholarships for Drupal GovCon:

  • Sponsored Scholarship
  • James King Memorial Scholarship

Who makes the selection?

The funds are managed by Drupal4Gov, llc. Award recipients are determined by a team of community members who make the selection.

What is required of recipients?

If selected for an award, recipients are awarded a full or partial award based on their request and our total award budget.

In exchange, we ask that they:

  • meet any deadlines set by Coordinators
  • follow any provided purchasing or reimbursement instructions
  • volunteer four (4) or more hours onsite at Drupal GovCon

Please do not take acceptance of this award lightly. If you accept the offer and spend community funds, but then are unable to attend the conference, you will be ineligible from receiving an award in the future.

About the James King Memorial Scholarship

The Drupal GovCon James King Memorial Scholarship provides reimbursable travel funds to attend Drupal GovCon for Local and State employees.

Attendance at Drupal GovCon benefits the award recipient not only by offsetting a portion of the travel expenses, but also by providing an authentic Drupal GovCon experience and connection to the larger Drupal community. Benefits of attending include networking, learning how to hold local events, training, sprints, and learning more about the Drupal project.

Recipients will be selected based on their financial need, active contributions to the Drupal community, dedication to growing Drupal through code, community leadership, and mentoring. Additionally, recipients will be expected to volunteer for the equivalent of one half day during the event.
