Government open data initiatives continue to gain momentum and, through the international, community-based Project DKAN (https://getdkan.org/), Drupal has become a global leader in powering government open data platforms worldwide.
Founded in 2012 and actively driven by its community partners, DKAN powers open data efforts for countries (Germany, Italy, Jamaica), federal agencies (USDA, U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs), states (California, North Dakota, Oklahoma), cities (Louisville, Oakland, San Diego) and international non-governmental organizations.
With each instance, developers, product owners and open data leaders have contributed to its growth, from DKAN product development to wider open data.
