Ideas to Manage Your Projects Based on the Habits of Highly Effective People

Presenters: webthingee

Are you a Project Manager looking for inspiration and ideas? A Developer looking for ways to better lead your team, organize yourself, or get a different perspective on your project? Or, are you a project Stakeholder looking for ways to help move your project forward or optimize time spent in meetings? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this talk will provide you with thoughts and ideas, under the concepts written about in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, that will positively impact the way you manage your projects.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • Dozens of ideas that you can apply immediately to your project
  • Ideas on how to prepare for and efficiently lead a standup/scrum
  • Ways to start your workday that can lead to greater productivity
  • Benefits and motivation around how to carry the right mindset along your path

When I was a developer, my goal was to complete the project through the lens of tickets and code. Since then, I have served as a business analyst, a product owner, as well as a project manager and have looked at "project completion" from several different perspectives. These perspectives serve me well in my role at Lullabot as a Senior Project Manager, as I work with amazing clients (e.g. Cisco, NBC, NewsBank, American Booksellers Association, NAMM, etc.). I have also found that these transitions paved with lessons, which continue to grow and fortify my mindset, processes, and daily habits. These lessons help me manage projects on a day-to-day basis; perhaps they can help you on your projects.
