From DrupalNYC to the White House & Beyond

robbiethegeek

Every aspect of my life for the last 14 years has had something to do with open source communities.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell the story of one geek’s path from being a bored IT guy running a network operations center for the City of New York to eventually working for the Executive Office of the President and all the stops in between.  There are a lot of steps but all of them start with creating my account on Drupal.org in 2006 eventually getting a Drupal tattoo on my left calf years later, and getting a chance to support IRS moving to Drupal because of that tattoo.

This talk truly is a love letter to the communities that have embraced me, and made me who I am today.
